Got assigned to pick up a load at the Port facility in Gulfport. I had to use a TWIC escort service to get entry. Cost $75.00. I don’t know how I’m going to explain this to my family.
That’s cheap. New Orleans charges 100 and I heard they were looking to raise it. I’ve always just had a twic card and never had to worry about it.
Unless your an owner op your company should be paying the escort fee.
I thought that for as much as this escort service provided, the fee was very reasonable.
Several weeks ago, I got unloaded by a lumper service and they charged $1,046.50 to unload one trailer. Now that I thought was exorbitant. I’m used to 400 or 500 lumper charges but that was ridiculous and I waited 12 hours to get a dooor and get unloaded.
