Gotta love the “hurry up and wait” game. Drove 3 hours last night to have a load cancel on us and get to another shipper this morning that won’t have the load ready till 2200. This is after sitting at the terminal for 2 days.

Okay, venting over.

How have you folks been holding up?

And of course you are probably not compensated for all your time wasted waiting at the terminal or chasing non-productive miles. It’s a wonder why so many drivers leave companies because this happens too often.

We get some detention pay but it’s not enough to justify us out here wasting our time. After I made this post, the load I was waiting on also canceled. So now I’m sitting in Keasby NJ at FedEx waiting for another load. We’ve had one 700 mile trip since we left the terminal on Tuesday.

My co-driver has court on Monday so we’ll be headed home for a day or 2 if we ever get there and then we start on the doubles with the Estes account.

Praying that goes much smoother than this.

Sorry to hear that you had all that sitting time and cancelled loads. That surely doesn’t pay the bills or buy the groceries. It will be so different for you at Estes. Like I said befrore my son works for Estes and used to run teams from Jackson Ms.-Dallas/Ft. Worth, Tx.- Birmingham Al. and made a ton of money. He now lives in Florida and works on a extra board city run and still makes the big bucks. Estes is a good company. Keep us informed on your progress.

Good morning Drivers! Been quiet here lately so I assume everyone is out there getting the miles in.

Y’all have a great day!

Hopefully everyone is getting the miles that they need and want. It has been awful quiet here JayP. I guess no one has any questions or anything to say about driving or trucking. I’m sure that there are many drivers here to jump on the chance to help or offer advice. I hope you are having a good time in your endeavors and making the miles you need. Keep posting and there won’t be the sound of crickets here.

Yeah. I check in about once a day. Does Google Search pull from this? The Driving Truth has to be seen in search.

We’re doing pretty good out here. Finally got steady rolling on the Estes account. Pulling these doubles and the miles have been pretty good. Got about six and a half more weeks before my next home time so I’m trying to make the most of it

Thank God for $1,500 a week minimum pay. Not that I want that all the time but they had us do a 34-hour reset then come back and sit all night. Waiting for a load just to get a couple empty trailers to pull. Then go get an oil change and now we’re sitting again till 7:00 p.m. Tonight.

Seems like every time we come off a reset or ETO it’s so difficult to get rolling again. But we’re going to make the best of it and carry on.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Keep up the good attitude JayP it isn’t always this way. You might even look back someday and wish it was that slow.
