Tax writeoff for driver not Owner Operator

Could you guys maybe share a little light on what can be a tax write-off even if you just drive for a company not a owner operator. I’d really appreciate it it seems like they’re not holding enough taxes out I’m not sure but I kind of wonder what I can ride off like clothes stuff like that thanks for your help

If you think that youre not having enough withheld, why not elect to have additional amount withheld.

Im not sure on a standard individual tax return. But while I was a company driver, I had multiple LLCs still operating that i managed. First and foremost, a mobile music production company, a lot of expenses were part of that business, a separate consulting and management firm, a publishing and researching firm for writing a book about living conditions on the road, so a great bulk of food purchased, items for the truck etc were direct write offs as they are part of the research. Its a lot different though filing for multi member llcs than as individual.

I am guessing you are on per diem? This reduces your taxable income. Usually it is a non taxes cpm

Now that it’s a New Year, you’ll be getting your W2. Get your taxes figured quickly to see if you owe. If you do, go to the office and fill out a new W-4. If you are single, you need to claim Single with 0 dependents. Then taking what you owe for Federal, divide by 12 and that will tell you how much more per month to have taken out. Then do the same for your State taxes.

Even with having per diem, interest on house payments, etc, I didn’t have enough deductions and I made enough money as a widowed 70+ yr old female, that I had to have $150/mth extra taken out of my wages for Federal taxes and $50/mth for State. It’s either that or pay when you file. :face_with_tongue:
