Co-driver and I having a debate.
We have a service tech on the way but he thinks this is a hub seal leak and I’m saying a loose lug nut.
What do y’all say?
At first I thought it was a loose lug nut too because of the whole “rust trails indicate looseness” but looking at the lug nut above and below it I see streaking starting on those ones too and then looking at the hub there’s a blueish greenish mark coming out of it in the same direction as the lug nut streaks. So I’m thinking he might be right and it’s a hub seal leak. Curious to see what the answer ends up being

I see what you’re saying.. and after a 2nd look in the daylight it does seem like an inside hub seal leak. It’s in the shop now.
The tire doesn’t look too healthy either. I’d opt for the hub seal as the marks seem consistent with the leak.

They said the hub seal was leaking from being over filled and we got a new tire.
Back to getting these miles.
