Truck stops to avoid

So I found my first worst truck stop of the 4 months I’ve been driving.. TA in Sparks, Nevada

200 N McCarran Blvd, Sparks, NV 89431

Just went in to use the restroom and somebody was in there smoking pills. It smelled so horrible and was so strong I was concerned about breathing it in. That’s the third strange encounter with a drug addict we’ve had in this TA since we’ve been here for our reset. When we first got here some young girl with greasy hair and pupils the size of softballs asking if she knew us pulled her shirt down exposing her breast, swearing she knew us from somewhere.

Any other truck stops to avoid or anyone have any horror stories?

Looks like you found a real sxxx hole! I have only been there once way back in the 90s and I wasn’t impressed then either. I’m sure a call to TA corporate office wouldn’t make a difference either. The best you can do is to put it on your “never again list”. I had such a list during my career and it included truck stops both corporate and independent in many different states.

Pilot/Flying J in Lebanon, Ohio.

Cops are there multiple times a night, its really dirty, and had druggies knocking on my door all night. PC’d to the rest area up the road.

I can think of several.

Unnamed truck stop in New Orleans off the 10 down by the ports, gun battle between gang bangers and cops ensued in the parking lot.

Flying J in aurora co. On 32nd. No parking, utter cluster fxxx at any time.

TA in commerce city CO. Drug infested, horrible. Also a cluster fxxx.

The tomahawk in fountain CO, just plain nasty, seedy hotel there, drugs, weirdos and cops on the regular. Dirt lot with craters.

Loves in South Memphis. Theft, lot lizards, gang and gun violence, not safe at all. Ive fueled there only because mudflap was giving very compelling discounts, but I’d avoid it if possible.

Luckys casino and bar outside sheriveport LA on the 20 or la49, cant remember which. No restrooms after 10, lots of drunks, last resort.

One right down by the Walmart DC in apalousa LA, think it’s an ExxonMobil. Awakened to several hillbillies with mullets fist fighting in drunken brawl at 9 am in front of my truck. Restrooms are on par with a frat house on Sat nights.

Several speedway on us49 I think in MS, safe enough but don’t touch anything there, restrooms are an epa superfund spot and I certainly wouldn’t get any food there.
