Giving up my dedicated route and going OTR after New Year's 2026

Hello All,

For over a year and a half I’ve had a dedicated loop from Upper MI to Goldsboro, NC. After all this time going through mountains for 5 hours a week and being completely dead on my weekly 48 hour home time, the 3028 Hub miles in 5 days each week has finally caught up, and all the time I have on my hometime is used up with chores around the homestead and prepping for next week with close to no quality family time.

Gonna go OTR and go out for 11 days and home for 4. Every family is different and as I’ve learned, sometimes things change. When I started we NEEDED to have that weekly time together. Now we look forward to more quality time. Now hometime is more valuable in duration versus frequency.

Moral of the story is, have the self awareness for yourself and your family’s needs.

Looking forward to to doing different routes each week and getting back to being a trainer (which my schedule stressed me out so badly I hung it up)
