I have now been at Greater Omaha Express for 6 months. I have gotten back to Jersey 3 times.
A couple weeks ago i decided to.visit my father’s grave and inquire about arrangements to be buried there myself. There are 5 people there. However, the woman in the office argued with me telling me there are only 4 and i was mistaken. I was know who is there. My father, grandfather, great grandfather and his 2 wives. She insited i was wrong. They lost my great grandfather!!!
I had to call the funeral home who had the records from 1979! He was there. The lady was in disbelief.
So very interesting! My family has a cemetery in Tullos, LA that is abandoned and goes back to the 1880s right off a creek. I wish I could be buried there!
That is crazy, but I have seen all kinds of folks in charge of cemetaries. I could tell you alot of stories about things I have encountered. I’m glad you got it resolved.
Families did that back then. My grandmother bought a family plot in 1925. I had never heard of most of the folks in there. My daughters have dove into the ancestitcy thing and learned a lot. My older brother and sister was able to provide some info too. They are 16/17 years older than I am.
Yeah i got sooo much info. My Irish ggg granparents died and 2 kids went to an orphanage… right next to the cemetery. They could see their parents graves from bed. Sad
