Best company for cdl a with no experience?

Hi guys.

Im takimg my cdl A test this Friday.

I’m not really worry about the test itself, because I think I am 100% ready.

But I heard it is extremely hard to find a job without any experience unless you got trained by a mega and get hired by there.

Soooooo….

My question is, which company would hire me ASAP??? I am really broke right now, I dont even really care how much they would pay me as long as I get paid.

I am looking for a OTR, and dont really care about team driving or not.

I did look up for schneider and swift but they said they currently dont have any jobs for me right now.

I am starting with Covenant and didn’t apply with them till I was already in school. Also Prime, Steven’s, Melton, Western Express.. and others hire new drivers with no experience.

Try a Google search for companies that hire new cdl holders with no experience

You’ll probably need to search job listings in your area, even on Craigslist. Then start applying everywhere and start calling recruiters. Even if a recruiter can’t take you, they might know another company that will.

I started here for training after I passed my cdl test.

It was a great company to work for.

Usually we recommend company sponsored training and cdl for this very reason among others.

I would check with all the usual for their taking recent grads or still in school. Knight does take new grads, ask about their top gun program. They, along with many others have added bonuses if you are a veteran.

As a new cdl holder, I’d highly recommend you go with a company like knight, swift, werner, etc that specializes in training new drivers. They have the resources to help launch a successful career and are more forgiving about first year bumps and scrapes that new drivers often have.

Im almost in the same boat as you but I drove for 8 years and then I set my CDL expire and not renew it. I decided I wanted to drive again and I went through the whole thing again as I went to a CDL school to get my CDL again. I graduated in August and I am thinking about Western Express. They should hire you without experience and when you get some OTR then you should be able to find another company to work for.

Good morning,

It is always recommended to apply to a company and train with them for your pathway to employment but not the only way to a Class A. Western Express is a good company to get started with and could be a permanent career. Old School, a well known contributor on the forum might come here with advice on Western Express when he reads your post. Good luck to you in you future job search.
